CONFERENCE

Project OBRAD will be launched with the 1st OBRAD Conference in Zagreb on June 2nd and 3rd 2016. Conferences will be held once bi-annually and will provide opportunities for ongoing communication and co-operation between education and economy.

The organisational partnership of Croatian Employers' Association, University of Zagreb and VERN' University of Applied Sciences clearly demonstrates that essential problem and challenge in the relationship education-economy-social development have been recognized by the key stakeholders of that development. Such a partnership is also a significant step toward uniting public and private interests in creating a different, more contemporary and more constructive education than the one we currently have in Croatia, the kind of education that will set in motion mechanisms of economic growth and sustainably meet the needs of the labour market and at the same time foster new knowledge and new opportunities to apply such knowledge for the benefit of the society as a whole.

"This conference launched a debate and kick started a process for reflection and partnership based action, on the need to reform education and training systems. I took away some valuable lessons regarding the political situation and state of country reforms in the area of education and labor market."

Gregorio de Castro, Policy Assistant to Director Eckert, Directorate E, DG Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Mobility, European Commission

"This conference captured a topic of Business and Education in so many ways.
I have never been to a conference that is more honest in its valuation of the immediate past and more realistic in setting a practical outline and agenda for the future."

Robert Maurer, President
American Corporation for Education and Training
